The much-loved downriver enclave has a new economic engine. The Hustler Club. This topless bar probably will be Lincoln Park’s largest employer. Like many of their employees’ breastal area, the Hustler Club is too big to fail. Lincoln Park should diversify their vice-based economy. Instead of relying on one large strip club, LP needs to attract mom-and-pop liquor stores, motorcycle gang clubhouses, some adult bookstores, and maybe even a brothel or donkey show. No strip club, even a strong brand like the Hustler Club, is guaranteed to weather every economic storm.
Mayor Frank Vaslo attended the hearing and said he hopes this puts to rest an issue that has divided the city for more than a year. Vaslo said that tax revenue generated by the club will be used to hire more parking meter maids.
